Quiche Lorraine

Quiche can be so quick and easy to throw together (especially if you buy a ready made pie crust or keep pre-made pie crusts in the freezer)! What’s more, there is so much room for variations in how you make your quiche that every quiche can have it’s own unique set of flavors completely personalized and catered to your taste buds! All you need is this simple basic recipe and you’re on your way to confectionary delicacies!

Quiche Crust:

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ tsp salt

¼ teaspoon baking powder

6 Tbsps butter, softened

4-6 Tbsps cold water

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter. Use pastry cutter to blend together.

Pre-bake crusts at 375 for 15 minutes before filling.

Filling Ingredients:

1 pie crust

1/2 cup meat of choice

2-3 cups chopped vegetables

1/2 cup grated cheese

3 eggs

2 cups milk

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions:

Prepare the pie crust in a round pie pan and fill 2/3 of the way full with your choice of vegetables, meats, and cheese.

In a large mixing bowl combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Beat well. Pour egg mixture over the filled pie pan and bake at 400° for 35-40 minutes, or until the egg is completely set in the middle.

Some of our favorite things to add to quiche include: bacon, ham, sausage, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, green onions, spinach, broccoli, parsley, cilantro, and cheddar cheese. Mix and match ingredients for variety!
